Discover the variety of our rollers
Our individual rollers offer customized solutions in terms of geometry and attachments for every installation situation. Available in diameters from 3 to 100 mm, they include a wide range of materials, including bearing steel, stainless steel, free-cutting steel, cold-formed steel, and different plastics, to meet the highest demands of various applications.
Plastic-sheathed ball bearings
Ball bearings with a plastic coating are ideal for smooth running, low starting and rolling resistance, and soft rolling. This protects the profile rail and other system components. A wide variety of materials offer different characteristics, allowing us to handle specific customer requirements.
Steel ball bearings
Steel ball bearings are typically used as support rollers and are characterized by high load capacity combined with a long lifetime, minimal abrasion, and low starting and rolling resistance. The use of double-row steel ball bearings further increases these already high load capacities. Here, too, many different materials and quality levels are available.
Slide bearings
Our slide bearings are not only used as guide rollers, but also as simple support rollers. The basis for perfected running comfort and a long lifetime is a specially developed bolt design, which, in combination with special lubricants, allows the plastic roller to function optimally. Therefore, many of our customers rely on SKT’s “low-cost” version.
Soft rollers
Due to the increasing market demand for low-noise rollers, the so-called soft roller was developed. Our soft rollers reduce rolling noise to a minimum. The hard core ensures optimal sliding characteristics on the bolt. Depending on the design, our soft rollers are used as support rollers or guide rollers.
Plastic turned parts
Thanks to our extensive manufacturing possibilities, we are able to offer customized plastic turned parts made from a variety of materials. These are used by our customers as slide bearings, rollers, or even as plastic coat for their own ball bearings. Our plastic turned parts are also used in a wide variety of applications.
Bearings for wet areas
Our bearings are used in a variety of applications requiring high corrosion resistance, including environments where moisture and water are constantly present. The combination of advanced materials such as plastics, brass, and stainless steel enables a wide range of applications and ensures a long lifetime and reliability.
Your advantages with rollers from SKT
Long lifetime & high load capacity
A coordinated contact surface geometry, the optimum material selection, and the choose of the correct design lead to less wear and a long lifetime.
Maximum rolling comfort
Our rollers ensure quiet and comfortable rolling, ideal for applications where noise reduction is essential. This also includes the low deformation under static loading of our plastics and the low rolling resistance of our rollers.

Areas of application for the rollers
Furniture fittings
Our rollers are used as load-bearing or guiding elements in furniture fittings, for example, in cabinet and drawer systems, kitchens, or tables. The Rollers enable low-friction and quiet movement of drawers, doors, flaps, refrigerators and freezers, and other components. Our plastics protects sensitive surfaces and ensure smooth and easy movement in the profile rail.
Fittings for building technology
In the field of building technology, our rollers are used in sliding glass doors, sliding windows, winter gardens, room divider systems, various gates, tool cabinets, sun protection systems, elevator systems, and other building components. These allows a smooth running and easy operation. Various rollers can also be used in heavy-duty applications, where they can support the heaviest loads. Specially selected steels prevent corrosion, which is especially an advantage in outdoor areas.
Sanitary
In the sanitary industry, rollers are used in sliding shower doors or other sanitary fixtures to ensure smooth movement and a long lifetime without significant wear. The advantages of rollers in sanitary applications include their resistance to water and moisture. Their ability to function in chlorinated and other aggressive environments is significantly influenced by the use of materials such as brass or various stainless steels.
Intralogistics & Conveyor Industry
Minimal rolling resistance and maintenance, maximum lifetime, robustness, and noise reduction are outstanding features of our rollers, for example, in hanging and table systems and conveyor chains. High speeds, cornering, absorbing shock movements, and overcome of switches can be achieved in transfer and shuttle systems, for example. For transport systems with integrated belts, plastics offer good adhesion, thus enabling reliable processes. Our rollers are used as guide or support rollers in the intralogistics and conveyor industry.
Machine- and Plant engineering
Rollers are used in a wide variety of applications in mechanical and plant engineering due to their excellent characteristics, such as corrosion resistance, low friction, quiet rolling, and low maintenance requirements. These properties can be profitably utilized, for example, in movable machine covers, conveyors, packaging systems, or for high precision linear movements in linear guides and drive systems.
The advantages of our rollers in machine and plant engineering are particularly their long lifetime and their reliability, even under the most demanding operating conditions. A wide variety of rollers demonstrate their capabilities as guide or support rollers.
Frequently Asked Questions about our rollers
What are the advantages of ball-bearing rollers?
Our ball-bearing rollers represent the premium version. They are characterized by higher load capacities and exceptional running smoothness, making them the ideal choice for demanding applications.
What are the typical applications of rollers?
Our rollers are extremely versatile and are used in a wide range of industries. Typical applications include:
- Furniture systems (e.g. for drawers or sliding doors)
- Building industry
- Intralogistics and conveyor technology
- Machine- and Plant engineering
What is the difference between ball-bearing rollers and needle-bearing rollers?
Ball-bearing rollers offer lower rolling resistance, enabling particularly smooth movement. Needle-bearing rollers, on the other hand, stand out with their compact design and are ideal for applications with limited installation space.
Can rollers be used in corrosive environments?
Yes, many of our rollers are specially designed for use in corrosive environments. Thanks to a wide range of materials, they can be used, for example, in sanitary facilities, outdoor areas, or salt-rich environments such as coastal regions.
How do rollers differ from conventional wheels?
The term ‘rollers’ encompasses a wide range of products that differ fundamentally from conventional wheels. Rollers, especially heavy-duty rollers, are specifically designed for industrial applications such as conveyor technology, mechanical engineering, or logistics. We do not offer rollers for floor conveyors, beds, or transport containers.
